The Battle of the Baristas
The competition to find Galway’s best barista is on!
Are you one of Galway's best baristas? If so, Connacht Gold want to offer you a chance to win €1,000! The inaugural Battle of the Baristas will be taking place in Eyre Square on August 5th. Judges will be awarding prizes in the following categories:
- Best Skinny (Cappuchino)
- Best Latte
- Most Creative barista
- Best Hot Chocolate
- Best Place for a Cup of Coffee
- Best Barista in the West

Terms and Conditions
- Connacht Gold Co-operative Society Ltd in association with iRadio are the promoters of the Connacht Gold Battle of the Barista Competition
- The promotional period will run from 18th July 2011 to 5th August 2011 (August 5th Judging and Final Day of Competition)
- Entries to be made on line at http://www.iradio.ie
- There is no limit to the number of entries.
- All entrants must be 18 years or older
- Connacht Gold reserves the right to withdraw the competition without notice
- For a written copy of the Terms and Conditions please write to Battle of the Barista Competition, Connacht Gold Consumer Foods, Barnasraghy, Strandhill Road, Co. Sligo
- Categories for judging are: Best Skinny (Cappuccino), Best Latte, Most Creative Barista, Best Hot Chocolate, Best Barista in the Region.
- Overall prize of Best Barista in the Region will be chosen from the winners of each of the other categories.
- In each category there will be three finalists for judging on August 5th.
- All Entries must use only Connacht Gold Milk.
- All Entries must be in a 5 ounce cup.
- Strictly no use of alcohol.
- Coffee drinks must not exceed one shot of espresso.
- No ingredients or substances other than ground coffee may be placed in the portafilters.
- Each competitor will be given fifteen minutes preparation time and 15 minutes performance time totalling a total of 30 minutes for each contestant.
- Judges’ decision is final at all times.
